I created Global Feast as an event counterpart to the first-ever Conde Nast Traveler Food & Drink issue.
The goal was to bring something new to the crowded New York culinary calendar. Instead of a standard tasting event, where all the food is brought to one place, we took ticket-buyers to the food. The night began with a cocktail party for 1,000. Guests were then transported to restaurants around the city for one-of-a-kind dinners commissioned from some of today's top chefs.
In the second year, the event was renamed Global Tasting Tour and expanded to include Los Angeles and Chicago. Family dinners and chef-selected gifts for every guest were added expressly for lead sponsor MasterCard.
The sold-out tickets ranged from $75-$275.
